Thought for the Day

We were able to put a man on the moon before a black man in the White House.

One would think that social inequities would be easier to remedy than scientific mysteries.

Update: from the comments – “scientific mysteries are solved through curiosity, social inequities exist due to a lack thereof”

I do not believe that our society is prepared for the cultural changes that will occur. I do not believe most Americans have a clue that our culture will change. I’m grateful to be able to witness it.

Speaking from middle America you might have a better read on things than I, but in California at least it seems we’ve been desparate for change for a very long time

Omaha, NE has historically voted Republican. This year, because of Obama’s community organizational skills, there are 22,000 more democrtats registered to vote than republican. This is the first time in the history of the city that dems have out numbered the republicans. Since we split our electoral votes, some of them might be going to Obama. White people have had the power. Because social inequites are extrememly difficult to remedy, I believe voting for a minority is almost reason enough to vote for them, or hire them or take a class from them.
